Bio: Jacob Grimm was born on January 4, 1785. Wilhelm Grimm was born on February 24, 1786. They were both German academics and among the best story-tellers in Europe. They spent their childhood in a simple countryside state. They were both educated in Friedrich-Gymnasium and would later study law in the University of Marburg. They were inspired by their professor and began studying linguistics and philology. These studies helped them formulate the Grimm's law and helped them with their collections of fairy and folk tales. In 1812, the Grimm brothers published their first collection of fairy tales which were collected from villagers and some published works from other languages. Between 1816 and 1818, they published two volumes of German legends and a volume of early literary history.
