"Nickity Nick" by Yannai Segal
You might be the strongest kid in your class,
Throwing balls miles away in one single pass.
But you could never beat the fastest Nickity Nick,
The super boy who's quickity quick.
Maybe you've heard of Nickity Nick's magical feet,
Where with one single jump, he's across the street.
Perhaps you've caught a glimpse of these super feet,
Even watched him hurdle a building with a mere leap.
Rumors afloat that his legs are made of steel,
Or that he's just a story, not even real.
But those who have challenged him after school,
Know this all to be true after that fateful duel.
So perhaps you're the smartest in your grade,
A hundred on every test and sharp as a blade,
But you could never out-run Nickity Nick,
The wonder boy whose quickity quick.
Nickity Nick drinks a gallon of water before every race,
To better prepare him for that stressful chase.
He gives each opponent a ten second head start,
Then, Ready, Set, Go, he catches him fast as a dart.
Work and determination lead his way,
Perseverance makes sure he'll never stray.
That is the code for Nickity Nick,
Ensuring he'll always be quickity quick.
First, he never takes any opponent too lightly,
Accepts all medals, awards, and honors politely.
He says all vegetables are edible and delectable,
While his teachers all comment on how he's so respectable.
So you might clear the bases in no time flat,
Hitting a homerun with one swing of the bat.
But if you want to be as fast as Nickity Nick,
You'll have to practice hard to become so quickity quick.
